Jungkook Reveals He Has Blue Hair After BTS’ ‘MTV Unplugged’ Performance
When it comes to his hair, Jungkook of BTS can do no wrong. Whether he cuts it short, grows it out, or dyes it a certain color, it always looks good, and fans always love whatever style he chooses. On Feb. 23, Jungkook shocked BTS fans by revealing he dyed his hair blue.

BTS’ episode of MTV Unplugged aired at 9 p.m. EST on Feb. 23. The band performed their songs “Telepathy,” “Blue & Grey,” “Life Goes On,” and “Dynamite” from their album BE along with a cover of Coldplay’s 2005 song “Fix You.”
After “MTV Unplugged Presents: BTS” aired, Jungkook posted a selfie on BTS’ Twitter account. The photo was posted at 10:22 p.m. EST on Feb. 23 and 12:22 p.m. KST on Feb. 24. Jungkook dated the photo with a filter, showing that he took the photo on Feb. 24 in South Korea.
In the photo, Jungkook is standing in front of a mirror in one of Big Hit Entertainment’s practice rooms. With his hand tattoos on display, the mirror selfie Jungkook posted shows the BTS singer dyed his hair from blonde to dark blue.
Jungkook captioned the photo with a smiley face and the hashtag #JJK. The singer also told BTS fans he dyed his hair blue himself in the photo’s caption on Twitter.

BTS fans reacted to Jungkook’s blue hair
A few weeks prior at the 2021 Golden Disc Awards, Jungkook debuted blonde hair. Just as fans were recovering from Jungkook shocking them with blonde hair, he dyed it blue.
Of course, ARMY was also still recovering from BTS’ captivating MTV Unplugged episode, making Jungkook’s revelation even more impactful. After Jungkook tweeted the photo, a firestorm erupted on social media.
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME I’M STILL RECOVERING FROM THE UNPLUGGED,” a fan wrote on Reddit.
