Prince William and Kate are no exception. They have been together since the early 2000s. Although they were photographed getting cozy in the early years of their relationship, ever since they went public with their romance, Kate and Prince William have followed royal protocol pretty strictly.

While they have always seemed happy together, it is rare that royal watchers will spot Kate and Prince William holding hands, much less hugging or kissing in public. This is not because they don’t love each other — rather, they are just following the guidelines so beloved by Queen Elizabeth.
