Coronavirus: Krispy Kreme will give free doughnuts (by the dozen) to health-care workers

During the coronavirus crisis, Krispy Kreme wants to say thanks to the nation’s health-care workers — with hot Original Glazed doughnuts, chocolate-topped crullers, cinnamon twists, apple fritters and those messy powder-topped ones filled with lemon cream.

Starting this Monday, March 30, which is National Doctors Day, and every Monday through May 11, the end of National Nurses Week, all Krispy Kreme drive-thrus will give free doughnuts to everyone in the medical community. You just have to show your employer badge.

The company is prepared “to share joy … and to show our gratitude” by handing out doughnuts by the dozens. Not just one dozen, but multiples.

“Pick up some free dozens on the way to work for you and your colleagues, or maybe a free dozen on your way home to family after a long shift,” the company said in its announcement.

There’s a sweet deal for other customers too. On Saturdays starting March 28, when you buy a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts, Krispy Kreme will add a free dozen for you to share with a neighbor or others. The free doughnuts will be “securely sealed and bagged individually” for contact-less drop-off.
