Thanksgiving kicks off the holidays in Los Gatos

Celebrate Thanksgiving without cooking at Verge Restaurant + Lounge at the Toll House. Their annual Thanksgiving buffet offers a carving station with roasted turkey and prime rib; a seafood station with oysters and shrimp cocktails; and guests ages 21 and older can enjoy unlimited mimosas. It’s wonderful when talented people give back. Uber piano talent Katya Grineva has performed at Carnegie Hall 18 times. Residents of The Terraces of Los Gatos were treated to a recital while Grineva was in town for a (now annual) benefit at the Saratoga Foothill Club. Her CD makes a great holiday gift.

A bra decorating contest? It was all in good fun to boost cancer awareness, highlight new treatment technologies and fundraise for Cancer CAREpoint. Dr. Kamakshi R. It was quite a sight to see hundreds of imaginative witches’ hats at the “Wonderful Witchy Women with a Cause Lunch. Founder and magic woman Cheryl Bailey has really pulled something out of her hat, starting with a lunch for 20. Fourteen years later, the event has made more than $3 million to help the Bella Vista League and local charities serve local families and children in crisis. Hats off to you ladies!

There’s something magical about the Los Gatos Holiday Parade. Thanks to the Los Gatos Lions, LGS Recreation and Los Gatos High School, the 63rd annual parade will take place Dec. 7 at 11 am, rain or shine, A free bike valet service is available for parade participants and spectators from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Municipal Lot 1 (near Flights Restaurant).
