SF Bay Area Pumpkin Patches 2019

Autumn brings harvest festivities of all sorts, including pumpkin patches popping up in cities and towns across the Bay Area. ABC Tree Farms (http://abctreefarms.net/pumpkin-patches/), alone accounts for 19, but there are scores more. Here’s just a sampling.

Speer Family Farms Pumpkin Patch: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily through October, 2171 Monarch St. Pumpkins, petting zoo, rides, giant slides, pumpkin shooter, giant zorb balls and more. Free admission. http://www.speerfamilyfarms.com

Clayton Valley Pumpkin Farm: 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m. through October, 1060 Pine Lane. Train operates 3 p.m. to dusk weekdays and 9 a.m. to dusk weekends. Play areas open 9 a.m. to dusk daily. Special events include 4-H members showcasing their pets, and drop-in cookie decorating. https://bit.ly/2w4gJZT


Silveyville: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. through October, 6248 Silveyville Road. Activities include a pumpkin village and pumpkin kingdom play areas, a duck pond and a walking path for an up-close encounter with goats, hens, roosters, lambs and other farm critters. Arata Pumpkin Farm: 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday through October, 185 Verde Road. Offering a large variety of pumpkins in all sizes, Minotaur’s Labyrinth Hay Maze and a haunted barn, plus hayrides, train rides, petting zoo, pony rides and playland. Farmer John’s: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through October, 800 Highway 1. Browse through a diverse variety of pumpkins, including the Atlantic Giant, which can weigh anywhere from 250 to 500 pounds. www.farmerjohnspumpkins.com/
