Kourtney Kardashian is the bored Woman of the Year for Glamour Magazine. Glamour’s WOTY issue is focused on “women changing the beauty industry,” from photographers to influencers to stylists to executives. Where does Kourtney Kardashian fit? Well, she’s been trying to get Congress to pass the Feinstein-Collins bill, the Personal Care Products Safety Act, which would update the FDA regulations for the cosmetics industry. Meaning, Kourtney wants more labels, better labels, and warning labels for products which might include certain substances, etc. She just wants the cosmetics industry to be forced to tell people what’s in their products. That’s what Kourtney’s whole WOTY profile is about. I mean, it’s an important issue. But… Kourtney? WOTY? Some highlights from the piece:

Kourtney cares about what’s in her products: “I’ve always been conscious of what’s in my beauty products, but once I had kids, I started caring more about the products they were using… I didn’t think my voice would have mattered, and then I had lunch with the EWG, and they gave me so much information. I had used their app for years to scan products, and see the scores of different things. Once I knew my voice could help make a difference, I was extremely excited to jump on board with them.”

Why Kourtney thinks the issue isn’t taken seriously: “I don’t know if cosmetics regulation has been swept under the rug because the word ‘cosmetics’ makes you think of girls putting on makeup—but it’s so much more than that. It’s all personal care products, from things you use on newborn babies to deodorant, toothpaste, and face wash. They’re things every single human uses at least once, if not multiple times a day. By calling it ‘cosmetics,’ it’s not taken as such a serious issue.”

She wants to do other things too: “I would love to get the cosmetics reform laws passed so I can move on to a different topic. I’m really, really passionate about schools and what they’re feeding kids. To me, there are certain things that shouldn’t even be at kids’ schools. So many of us are living our busy lives and doing the best we can, and so many people
