Movies under the stars: Where to see SF Bay Area outdoor flicks

Summer is when moviegoers flock to the cineplex to check out the latest Hollywood blockbusters. But it’s also a great time to change up the routine, kick back and catch a flick in the great outdoors, under the stars.

Fortunately, the Bay Area offers numerous opportunities to do just that — in a park, on a beach, at a winery. What follows is a partial rundown of such summertime options.

For most places, you’ll want to bring your own chairs, blankets and maybe a flashlight. Dress for cooler weather after the sun goes down. Unless otherwise noted, admission is free.
