‘American Idol’ Top 10: Did Fremont singer make the cut?

SPOILER ALERT: The following post contains results from Monday night’s edition of “American Idol,” during which the field in the singing competition was cut from 14 to 10. The show has already aired on the East Coast:

It’s getting down to crunch time on Season 17 of “American Idol.” On Monday night, ABC’s singing competition made a ruthless cut, sending four singers home to produce the show’s Top 10.

Hoping to survive was Fremont’s piano-playing Ashley Hess.

Unfortunately, she didn’t make it.

I am so so so sorry @ashleyhessmusic you didn’t go through to the next round on @AmericanIdol. But please never ever give up. You are so incredible! I will keep supporting you with whatever you do! Keep singing Ashley! I am a huge supporter! #AmericanIdol

The way things worked is that seven contestants were voted in by viewers of the show. Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie then were required to pick three singers from the remaining seven. In somewhat of a surprise, they passed on Hess.

The contestants who made it through on the first fan voting of the season were: Madison VanDenburg, Walker Burroughs, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Wade Cota, Laci Kaye Booth, Laine Hardy and Alejandro Aranda.

That left Evelyn Cormier, Riley Thompson, Alyssa Raghu, Dimitrius Graham, Eddie Island, Uche and Hess to sing for survival.
