Ariana Grande won’t be singing during the Grammy Awards, but she denies it’s because she would have been unable to work under a tight deadline to prepare for the performance.
Grande took to Twitter on Thursday to blast the award show’s producer, Ken Ehrlich, for what she claims are made-up excuses about why she will be absent from Sunday’s broadcast.
“i’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me,” Grande tweeted. “i can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. it was when my creativity & self expression was stifled by you, that i decided not to attend. i hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.”

Ehrlich, according to TMZ, felt that the No. 1 song wouldn’t connect with the audience.
A compromise that would have allowed Grande to sing “7 Rings” as part of a medley reportedly fell apart after producers insisted that they be allowed to pick one of the other songs. That’s when Grande pulled out of the show altogether, according to Variety.
“i offered 3 different songs,” Grande said another tweet. “it’s about collaboration. it’s …
