Think Brazilian music, with the infectious rhythms coming from six singers and only one percussionist.
That’s Ordinarius, a vocal group that’s been touring the world since winning the Brazilian National A Cappella Vocal Group Competition in Rio de Janeiro and releasing their first CD.
The group, first introduced to American audiences in New York in 2017, perform Jan. 17 at the Schultz Cultural Arts Hall at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto.
In this, their Bay Area debut, they’ll cover the U.S., Brazilian and international songbooks, with selections ranging from Brazil’s choros and the bossa nova to American pop hits.
