TV picks for Thursday, Jan. 10
“Gotham” (8 p.m., Fox): With the creation of Haven as a safe place for refugees, Gordon hopes to stop the gang fighting in Gotham. Meanwhile, Selina is determined to find Jeremiah (guest star Cameron Monaghan) and she convinces Bruce to help her. Then, Penguin goes to Haven to reclaim his staff.
“Truth and Lies: Monica” (9 p.m., ABC): This two-hour news special, marking the 20th anniversary of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment, recalls the sex scandal that rocked the country. The program features new interviews with Kenneth Starr, independent counsel during the Clinton presidency, and Lucianne Goldberg, a literary agent who advised Linda Tripp to record her late-night phone calls with Monica Lewinsky. Also included: excerpts from Barbara Walters’ extraordinary interview with Lewinsky – watched by a record-breaking 48 million people when it aired in 1999 – and rarely seen or heard evidence assembled by the special counsel, including photos, surveillance material and audio recordings.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (9 p.m., NBC): If all those ads during the Golden Globes weren’t enough to remind you, please note that this resilient — and hilarious — cop comedy begins a second act of sorts. After being canceled by Fox, it launches a new season on a new network. Let’s hope it’s as funny as ever.
“Fam” (9:30 p.m., CBS): Nina Dobrev and Tone Bell star in this new comedy about Clem (Dobrev), a woman whose vision of a perfect life with her adoring fiancé, Nick (Bell), and his wonderful family is radically altered when her 16-year-old, out-of-control half-sister, Shannon (Odessa Adlon), unexpectedly comes to live with them.
