San Francisco has Karl the Fog, why not Carl the Snowman?
Dallas-based Kate Weiser Chocolate is debuting its adorable hot cocoa kit, dubbed Carl the Snowman, at Neiman Marcus stores — including Walnut Creek, Palo Alto and San Francisco’s— and in the pages of the 2018 Neiman Marcus Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. That’s the catalog famous for its over-the-top gift suggestions, from a $7.1 million solar yacht to a $325,000 custom candy bar with a million nibbles of Serafina candy.
That’s some elevated company for a 6-inch dark-chocolate snowman, who transforms into hot chocolate. The $38 Carl is filled with hot cocoa mix and his head is filled with mini marshmallows (much like ours these days). And he’s one of Oprah’s favorite things for 2018, along with a couple of other delicious Bay Area finds.Related Articles

Today is one of two National Doughnut Days. Why? Why not?
Pick him up at local Neiman stores or order him through www.kateweiserchocolate.com. Then take off his wrappings, drop him in a pot of milk and simmer until he melts and — OMG, we’re committing snow-micide. (You might want to warn any Frosty-loving kids beforehand.) Serves 4 to 5.
