Firefighters Dress in Full Gear, Climb 110 Floors in Memory of 9/11

Two firefighters took to Stairmasters in a Planet Fitness in Bonaire, Georgia, to climb 110 floors — dressed in full firefighter rescue gear — in memory of all the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks, as ladbible.com reported.

Decked out in their uniforms and helmets — one of the firefighters was even carrying an oxygen tank — the men quietly took step after step in a heartwrenching display of remembrance and patriotism.

They climbed the same amount of flights of stairs as their firehouse brothers and sisters did while trying to save lives back on Sept. 11, 2001.

This duo began their ascent at 8.46 a.m. Tuesday, the exact moment American Airlines Flight 11 hit the north tower of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.

That was the first of the two planes to crash into the Twin Towers.

Three other planes were hijacked, with one crashing into the Pentagon, another hitting the south tower, and another failing to reach its target — instead crashing in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, instead of another U.S. high-value target, thanks to the efforts of the brave people on board.

The firefighters were paying tribute with each step to the 3,000 people that were killed — 343 of whom were firefighters.

In less than 24 hours, the video of their loving tribute has amassed more than 17 million views.

The woman who filmed the footage, who does not want to be named, according to ladbible.com, said, “Two firefighters at my gym walked all 110 stories of the World Trade Center and back down in remembrance of 9/11 and to honor all the fallen heroes.”

This isn’t the first time that a firefighter has paid tribute to fallen colleagues.

In 2016, noted ladbible, Jason Harding was pictured at the gym in his firefighter uniform using the stair machine.

A firefighter went into a gym early in the morning on 9/11/16 and asked if he could use a stair machine. He explained he…

Lezlie Bauler, who works on the front desk at the gym reportedly located in Tennessee, uploaded the image to Facebook, writing, “This man asked if it was okay for him to climb 110 sets, fully suited, of stairs in honor of his fallen brothers and sisters for 9/11.”

“Yes, sir, you can,” she continued.

“I am not one to get emotional, but a few tears were shed. Thank you for your service.”
