Woman Linked to 1955 Emmett Till Slaying ‘Unfazed’ After Feds Reopen Investigation

The woman at the center of the infamous 1955 Mississippi murder of Emmett Till is unfazed by the new federal investigation into the slaying that sparked the civil rights movement more than 60 years ago because she’s innocent, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam were charged and later acquitted by an all-white jury of murdering the 14-year-old Emmett after Roy’s wife, Carolyn Brant Donham, claimed the teen grabbed her and made sexual advances inside a store.

However, Timothy B. Tyson says in an interview for his 2017 book “The Blood of Emmett Till,” Donham acknowledged she lied about the attack — sparking outrage and new federal investigation.

In an exclusive interview with Radar, Donham’s daughter, Marsha Bryant, 63, says her mother has always told the truth about her run-in with Emmett and that it’s Tyson that is not telling the truth.

Marsha Bryant insists her mother was also completely unaware of Roy Bryant’s plot to murder Emmett — until after the fact!

“She didn’t know anything had happened until they (the cops) came to arrest her husband,” Marsha Bryant told Radar.

“She had no knowledge. She would have never condoned it and she was horrified when she found out.”

“There was nothing to indict her then – there is nothing to indict her now. She knew nothing!”

Marsha Bryant told Radar this is the not first federal investigation into the 1955 murder in the segregated Money, Miss. The case was officially closed in 2007 because both suspects were dead.

“This is not the first time this has happened, or third, but she has not ever changed her story — no matter what Mr. Tyson has said,” a defiant Marsha Bryant told Radar exclusively.

“Her story has always been her story. And it will continue to be that because it is the truth.”
