Hollywood North: Jason Momoa to film Apple TV series in Vancouver

Jason Momoa, he of the flowing hair and many muscles, is expected to be in Vancouver this fall to star in the Apple-produced fantasy series, See.

Written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games), See is world-building drama set in the future.

Momoa has signed on to play the series lead, Baba Voss, who is described as a fearless warrior, leader and guardian in the eight-episode show.

The 39-year-old Hawaiian actor, who will be scene on big screen Dec. 21 in the title role of DC Comics’ Aquaman, is best known for playing playing Kahl Drogo in Game of Thrones and Declan Harp in the Canadian-produced Netflix series Frontier.

See, according the Director’s Guild of Canada production list, is scheduled to being production in Vancouver on Sept. 17. Apple has not revealed when — or by what method — the show will be delivered to viewers.
