TV picks for Thursday, June 14
“Marlon” (8 p.m., NBC): Season 2 of the sitcom begins with back-to-back episodes. In the opener, Marlon convinces Ashley to let Zack model for a kids’ athletic line after he is approached in a mall. Unfortunately, things quickly go awry. After the shoot, Stevie, Yvette, Marlon and Ashley are horrified to see that the photos have been altered as the shirt he is modeling now contains the phrase “Funky Monkey.” Ashley and Marlon decide to pull Zack from the campaign after the advertising executives fail to see the racism of the shirt.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” (8 p.m., VH1): The top four queens must write and perform a verse in a performance of RuPaul’s hit single, American, and guest on RuPaul’s podcast with Michelle Visage. Choreographer Todrick Hall, style superstar Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews guest judge.
“Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” (10 p.m., Bravo): The Girlfriends get ready to say their final goodbye as the fifth and final season launches. As Abby and her pals each move forward in their lives, they are constantly reminded of their past and ever-intertwined lives with their exes. With “Lady Parts” finally on stable ground, Abby looks to take her relationship with Mike to the next level by blending their families, but receives some hesitation from his ex and hers.
