Suspect Shoots Himself Live TV High-Speed Chase

A man shot himself on live TV this Wednesday afternoon after leading cops on an hour-long high-speed chase through Southern California.

The suspect—who was in possession of various stolen firearms—was driving a U-Haul truck down Garden Grove when a member of his family told police he wanted to meet to return some stolen weapons.

The cops tried to reach him in order to collect the firearms, but the suspect refused to stop, and instead sped through traffic with police cars close behind.

At one point during the chase, one of the truck’s tires blew up. The man pulled over to the side of the road, stuck a gun in his mouth and shot himself, dying instantly.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the man’s weapons were reportedly stolen from a burglary in Fullerton.

Twitter users everywhere quickly reacted to the disturbing news, with one person saying: “This dude in this police chase really just blew his brains out on live TV wow.”

“Watching that pursuit suspect kill himself live was quite disturbing. I’ve never watched someone put a gun in their mouth and kill them self [sic]… until today… #pursuit #death @NBCLA @FOXLA @ABC7” added another.

Apart from being horrified by the suspect’s sudden suicide, viewers were also shocked that the network wasn’t able to cut off streaming before the graphic incident.

“@ABC7 Channel 4 delayed the feed but still showed him shooting himself” wrote a user.

“Just watched a police chase live in SoCal and it ended with the guys shooting himself in the car and they didn’t cut the live feed in time to not show it,” tweeted another.
