Yeah, we get it, the summer season is here, at least in spirit, but the weather feels like it’s mid-March. But look at the bright side, it’s not 108 degrees in the shade. The grass on all our lovely hills is (mostly) still green. And fun stuff is busting out all over the Bay Area. Here are seven ways to have a blast this weekend.

1 GO FORTH: And get ye to a festival

What’s your pleasure? A good old-fashioned county fair? A dazzling and creative DIY celebration, complete with wonderfully wacky gadgets (aka the Maker Faire)? Festivals devoted to Greek, Polish or Himalayan culture? Check, check and check. There’s all that going on, and more, this weekend. Check out our fairs and festivals roundup here.

2 SAVOR: Polkalicious German food

Mmm, schnitzel, bratwurst and brews — who can resist? San Francisco’s venerable Schroeder’s, which opened in 1893 (!!), is celebrating the big 125 this Saturday with a “Brew Haha” bash that includes all-you-can-eat deliciousness and live music by Polkalicious. Go celebrate there, then keep that gemütlichkeit flowing at one of the Bay Area’s other awesome German restaurants and beer gardens. Here are five of our faves. Prost!

Psych! We’re talking, of course, about the (insert regal trumpet music here) nuptials of Britain’s Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. Maybe you’ve heard of them? The wedding starts at 4 a.m. Saturday (our time), and you can watch on telly, or in a movie theater. And here’s everything you need to know about the royal event.

4 EAT: Helloooo, Kitty!

Yep, the Sanrio icon is back in the Bay Area and she’s bringing not only her penchant for big bows, but her sweet snack van, too. We’re talking giant cookies and themed macarons and petit fours at San Francisco’s Stonestown Galleria this Saturday (with encores at Pleasanton’s Stoneridge and Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza soon). Here’s where to find her. (Also, totally shocking news: Turns out Hello Kitty is not an actual cat. OMG. Who knew?)

Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool, the foul-mouthed, ultra-cynical, wisecracking mercenary superhero
