Holiday Fest: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 19, Harbor Bay Community Center and Temple Israel, 3195 and 3183 Mecartney Road, Alameda. East Bay artisans will sell their wares. Gifts will include knitted goods, linens, jewelry and dolls. Free admission; facebook.com/AlamedaHarvestFest.
Alameda South Shore Center Events: Nov. 24. Santa House opening at 11 a.m., followed by holiday performances by carolers at 2 p.m. and then live jazz music at 4 p.m. in the Center Court. Tree Lighting with Santa: 6 p.m. Nov. 24; Photos with Santa, Nov. 24-Dec. 24. Light the Menorah, 4-6 p.m. Dec. 16. Free. The Little Ice Rink, now through Jan. 15. 4,100 square feet of ice skating. Alameda Sings Concert: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1, Veteran’s Memorial Building, 2203 Central Ave. www.alamedaca.gov.
Christmas Tree Lane: Evenings, Dec. 2-31, 3200 block of Thompson Avenue. See an entire block of homes decorated with lights for the holiday. Santa also is on the lane to visit with children, weather permitting, from 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 9-23, closer to the Fernside end of the street. Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony: 4:30-6:15 p.m. Dec. 2, Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave. The annual Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony features performances from community groups followed by the tree lighting ceremony and The Mistletone’s Rockin’ Holiday Show. Santa’s Visit to Alameda Homes: 4:30-8:40 p.m. Dec. 16-17. Santa will make a special ten-minute visit to your child at home. Arrangements can be made for Santa to bring a gift. Note: Santa may not be able to speak to every child, if he visit a large party. $40. 510-747-7529,
