Farm Creek Brewing shutting down in Walnut Creek

You’ve got 10 more days to grab a pint of Heather’s Limit Foreign Extra Stout — or one of Farm Creek Brewing Company’s other craft beers.

After just over a year in operation, the small Walnut Creek brewery is shutting down Sept. 23 because the owners, Randy and Heather Janinda, plan to move out of state.

The couple announced the news on their Facebook page: “From the beginning, Farm Creek Brewing has always been about family. And community. We’re proud to be part of an amazing community of supporters and friends.

“But, we’re missing out on time with our families back home in the south. We can always make more beer, but we can’t make more time. Heather and I have decided that it’s time for us to create the next chapter of the Farm Creek story.”

The family-friendly brewery — where children and dogs were welcome — will be open normal business hours through Sept. 23, then the Janindas will begin dismantling the brewery and taproom.

Until then the taproom at 1415 Pine St. will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Details: www.farmcreekbrewing.com.
